{"id":3163,"date":"2015-07-10T19:32:57","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T19:32:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.siouxriverwildlife.com\/?p=3163"},"modified":"2015-07-10T19:34:26","modified_gmt":"2015-07-10T19:34:26","slug":"braisedpheasant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siouxriverwildlife.com\/index.php\/braisedpheasant\/","title":{"rendered":"BraisedPheasant"},"content":{"rendered":"    <div class=\"blog-yumprint-recipe blog-yumprint-standard blog-yumprint-condensed   \" yumprintrecipe=\"rCQk\" itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/Recipe\">\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-recipe-title\" itemprop=\"name\">Braised Pheasant with Balsamic Sauce<\/div>\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-recipe-published\" itemprop=\"datePublished\">2015-07-10 14:32:41<\/div>\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-header\">\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-save blog-yumprint-action\"><a href=\"http:\/\/yumprint.com\/app\/object\/rCQk\">Save Recipe<\/a><\/div>\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-print blog-yumprint-action\">Print<\/div>\t<\/div>\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-spacer\"><\/div>\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-recipe-contents\">\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-section\" yumprintsection=\"0\">\t\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-subheader\">Start by browning in a large stainless steel skillet<\/div>\t\t\t<ol class='blog-yumprint-ingredients'>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"0\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">4 slices of bacon (or more if you like)<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"1\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Crumble the bacon into bits and reserve in a bowl.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"2\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Cut breasts from two pheasants into one-inch strips.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"3\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Season with salt and pepper and roll in flour.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"4\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Saute meat in the bacon grease until browned on both sides.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"5\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Then remove to plate.<\/li>\t\t\t<\/ol>\n\t\t<\/div>\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-section\" yumprintsection=\"1\">\t\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-subheader\">To the skillet, add<\/div>\t\t\t<ol class='blog-yumprint-ingredients'>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"0\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">1 shallot, chopped<\/li>\t\t\t<\/ol>\n\t\t<\/div>\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-section\" yumprintsection=\"2\">\t\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-subheader\">When the shallot is softened, add<\/div>\t\t\t<ol class='blog-yumprint-ingredients'>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"0\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">3 cloves of garlic<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"1\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">1 cup chicken broth<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"2\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Bring to a boil, then return the meat to the skillet.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"3\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Cover and place in oven @ 275 degrees for at least one hour.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"4\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Remove the skillet from the oven and place the meat on a plate while you prepare the sauce.<\/li>\t\t\t<\/ol>\n\t\t<\/div>\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-section\" yumprintsection=\"3\">\t\t\t<div class=\"blog-yumprint-subheader\">Heat the skillet and add<\/div>\t\t\t<ol class='blog-yumprint-ingredients'>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"0\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">4 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"1\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Salt and pepper to taste<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"2\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Bring to a boil, mashing the garlic with a spoon.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"3\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Stir in the bacon bits and the meat.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"4\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Taste the sauce.  If you can\u2019t taste the balsamic,<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"5\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">You may want to add more.<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"6\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">To serve, place a scoop of mashed potatoes in the center<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"7\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">of a plate and lay the strips of meat around the<\/li>\t\t\t\t<li class=\"blog-yumprint-ingredient-item\" yumprintitem=\"8\" itemprop=\"ingredients\">Potatoes like spokes of a wheel.
